The best start to life that you can give your child
We use all the years of research to know what contributes and fosters to the healthiest development for children. With this we incorporate the approach athat respects and teaches the child as a whole person, using rich literature and real objects to present ideas through guided discovery — the way children naturally learn. Lessons are also designed to reinforce lifelong good habits such as attention and best effort. We are also a mastery based school and we adapt to the power of not yet. If a child have mastered a skill we will move on to the next skill, we also give children chances to better their outcome in their progress assessments because we believe that if you cannot do it yet, we help you until you can. We do ongoing assessments which means that we do not choose one day and do all of the progress assessments. these little ones sometimes have and off day and therefore we look at what they are able to do on the days where they feel their best, alive, relaxed selves.
If we see something that your child may need help with, we have an Occupational Therapist and and Educational Psychologist on site to see how we can help. But I must say, with this way of teaching, children often do not have fall outs. For Grade R we focus on exactly what they need to thrive in the formal school setting or any other setting you as parent should choose. Building on the already well built foundation that we put in place from the start. Cultivating a love for learning and a flourishing child.

Where did it start?
As an Educational Psychologist and a mom myself, I witness children going through pre-school, having to sit still for extended periods of time, loose their imagination and sense of exploration and being put into boxes. I also see a decline in play overall. Play is the highest form of learning and development for a child's brain and therefore we see more and more children with difficulties. There is a time where children have to learn to sit still and learn, it is definitely not in early childhood. In fact it is detrimental to their development and mental health later in life.

I decided to start this homeschool to give children the opportunity to develop in a natural, warm and attachment based setting, a childhood where they can grow and develop the way that it was supposed to be for children. Bringing experiential learning back. Research now shows that the decline of experience for children in the way our society approaches and implements early childhood education, creates sensory difficulties, under developed emotional children with lower empathy, it destroys natural curiosity and creativity, to name a few.

The research also shows that children who develop through play in early education do extremely well academically in later years and the chance of developing mental, behavioural or learning difficulties decreases significantly. Furthermore their attitude towards learning also stays positive into their adult life.

Our Teachers have over 30 years of experience in early childhood education. Our children are in good hands.
